📖 THE STORY
For decades, Cayo Perico was known as a secluded tropical island, far from the chaos of the mainland. Everything changed when an unknown virus was discovered in Los Santos.
At first, authorities believed the outbreak could be contained. Entire districts were placed under quarantine while scientists searched for a cure. But as the infection spread uncontrollably, the government launched an emergency relocation program.
Because of its isolation, Cayo Perico was chosen as humanity’s final safe haven. Massive construction projects began across the island: residential zones, warehouses, hospitals, and critical infrastructure were built at an unprecedented pace to host thousands of evacuees. Day and night, workers raced against time to complete a new city before the virus arrived.
But it was already too late.
The infection spread faster than expected. Supply chains collapsed, evacuation ships stopped arriving, and all communication with the mainland was lost. Construction sites were abandoned overnight—cranes left frozen in place, tools scattered, buildings left unfinished.
Within days, the virus reached Cayo Perico.
The evacuation project was permanently abandoned, and the island became a forgotten ruin of humanity’s last hope.
Today, nature is slowly reclaiming what was never completed. Rusted cranes dominate empty skylines, overgrown vegetation consumes unfinished structures, and silent streets still carry the echoes of a desperate attempt to survive.
Welcome to Cayo Perico… the island that was meant to be humanity’s last refuge.
